Land Registry is a non-ministerial government department, created in 1862 to register the ownership of land and property in England and Wales employing over 4000 staff across 14 offices. Our vision is ‘to be recognised as a world leader in the digital delivery of land registration services and in the management and reuse of land and property data’.
As a Registration Executive you will be trained to assess and process applications resulting from property transactions, and to update the Land Register data for England and Wales. You will be given a broad background about conveyancing (the process of buying and selling property) and the legislation which underpins and guides the work of Land Registry (the Land Registration Act and Rules). The amount of paper applications handled by Land Registry is reducing, Information Services are largely digitised and you will deal with transactional requests from a variety of customers including Conveyancers and Lawyers. This is an exciting opportunity to be involved in changing and improving processes and systems to support further efficiency.
As you will operate in an environment which is increasingly “e” based, your training, and your subsequent daily work will include significant elements of on-line interaction, competent PC skills are essential to this role. You will be a member of a small team of around 20 people of varying degrees of knowledge and experience, and you will need to be a strong team player, working towards clear team objectives and targets.
This is a full or part time opportunity to join an organisation that offers 28.5 days annual leave, plus eight days public holiday and up to 24 days flexi leave a year. You will have flexible start and finish times and the civil service pension arrangements, maternity, paternity, and childcare benefits are extremely competitive. Land Registry actively encourages career progression and as part of the wider Civil Service there will be many opportunities for self-development through Civil Service Learning.
This vacancy is also available at our Nottingham, Telford, Wales, Leicester and Croydon offices. If you wish to apply for more than one location then please list in order of preference under the 'Additional Requirements' free text box section of your application form. Do NOT apply for more than one vacancy, as your subsequent applications will be discounted.
